Saga: A Journal By Heathen Women
A new journal has been started with a focus on Heathen women. It recently posted this on its website - a call for submissions. Details below if anyone in or friendly with TGH is interested!
This morning Lauren, my co-host on the SHEathenry Podcast, sent me a message about a great idea she’d had: Starting a journal for and by Heathen women that we would publish once a year. Lauren has a full-time job and is a full-time student, on top of being a host on two podcasts and being the Chieftain of her tribe. Needless to say, she doesn’t have the time right now to bring her idea to fruition. I, on the other hand, have more time to devote to this endeavor.
For those who don’t know me, I am Alvilldr in fägra. While stationed in Germany as a member of the US military, I found my way to the old gods. After a decade in Europe, exploring museums and historical sites, I earned my Master’s degree in History, specializing in Late Antiquity and Early Medieval Europe. I am the author of Sheathenry, Volume I: Ritual Practices of Modern Heathen Women.
I would like to invite women in the Heathen community to submit articles, original 2-D artwork, poetry and prose to firstname.lastname@example.org. I am an academic, so if you are quoting, paraphrasing, or using someone else’s ideas you need to cite your sources. MLA style is preferred (there is an MLA style generator in the links). If you are describing your own experiences or are writing an original piece of fiction, of course, no citations are required. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2017.
